The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs report of 2004 projected the world population to peak at 9.22 billion in 2075 and then stabilise at a value close to 9 billion.
Habitability, quality of life and sustainability of the most populated cities are at risk due to the high density of population because of demographic expansion and lack of space.
The cities of 21st century must focus on the human-being and have the necessary infrastructure to meet the needs of its inhabitants by creeating more functional, eficients and sustainables urban ecosystems in wich to work, study, live, socialize, entertain, do exercise and walk through public spaces all in 15 minutes.
Mixed-use developments have all services in the same place because they combine different uses inside the same space: residential, offices, hotels, restaurants, etc.
